Are you smarter than an amoeba?

Project developed in order to obtain my Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts and Sciences degree

For 6 months I worked at the Cube Design Museum in Kerkrade, The Netherlands, inside a lab box, which visitors could always visit.

The idea of the project was simple, how would humans and amoebas (physarum polycephalum) compare when given the same cognitive task? What strategies would each of them use? What could be learned from their similarities and differences? 

After 6 months and many trials and errors, I showed that, in at least some particular tasks and in some particular cases, amoebas (physarum polycephalum) could perform better than humans!
